Alex joined Isadores as an Associate Director in June 2025

Alex has extensive experience advising clients on a range of corporate transactional, investment and commercial matters in the UK, USA and Europe. He acts for companies, shareholders, and other stakeholders on various matters, ranging from new ventures to cross border private equity investments and post-production film work. Alex also advises on non-contentious business restructuring and related transactional matters.

RECENT EXPERIENCE

• Advised UK-based family office on investment acquisition in Lund, Sweden. Acquisition (share capital) of Swedish propco and its light-industrial real estate. Liaised with legacy tenants (e.g. Tetra Pak) to implement development-friendly terms and consolidate cashflow. Liaised with local authority in respect of application for change of use for capital value uplift. Regular board reporting. Managed turn-key advice provided by local specialists (e.g. legal advisers (Baker McKenzie, Stockholm), tax advisers (Mannheimer Swartling) and planning consultants). Liaised with local debt finance provider (Swedbank) in respect of covenant satisfaction and successful reduction to amortization rate to maximise cashflow and overall investment return.
• Advised on successful exit (share sale) with a transaction value of £70m, which created 102% return on equity for shareholders during a 5 year period.
• Advised US-based pharmaceutical company on its real estate interests in Sweden and Belgium. Review and report on various documentation to establish viable options for continued factory operations while minimising the impact of financial constraints created by the client’s previously-concluded lease arrangements with their local landlord.
• Drafted LLP members’ agreement and investment management agreement relating to an SPV to be used for £5m portfolio investment in central London, arranged and managed the delivery of regulatory advice.
• Advised on JV terms in respect of a proposed investment into development property situated in central London, including but not limited to deadlock resolution mechanisms, profit split and associated calculations (IRR, hard hurdles).
• Advised on strategic JV buyout of a New York based LLC operating a successful music supervision offering for film and online media. Identified and managed access to local specialists in respect of “hot asset” issues arising from the buyout transaction and successfully minimised associated costs for the client.
• Drafted and managed the successful completion of framework agreement to be entered into with US division of French cosmetics manufacturer for brand campaign support.
• Advised on multi-year commercial arrangement for the provision of music supervision services to a German-based international cosmetics manufacturer for online brand campaigns.
• Identified and manged (via local tax specialists in Germany) withholding exemption matters for tax treatment of LLC arising from overseas based customer contracts.
• Review and advised on music clearance requirements for Searchlight Pictures in connection with Hollywood film production music supervision (OSTs).
• Advised on ownership structure and operational control and drafting of documents to implement intra-group reorganization to ringfence risk and create tax efficiencies for onward investment. Managed delivery of specific tax advice from qualified professionals and drafting of HMRC clearance applications.
• Advised award winning (Oscar, BAFTA) post-production sound design studio on various commercial matters including Hollywood picture image release and post production agreements for films (including “Poor Things” and “The Zone of Interest”).
• Advised on existing leases in relation to rent reviews and landlord’s extensive planned preventative maintenance works. Successfully negotiated a downward rent review and material reduction to maintenance costs to be apportioned to client.
• Drafted and facilitated completion of documents to effect share buyback to restructure stakeholder interests in UK registered private limited company.
• Drafted and facilitated the successful exercise of an EMI share option scheme to incentivise key members of staff.
